Personally I stopped actively contributing to fundraisers for research, quite some years ago, as I felt the w
hole movement had lost direction. Whilst I still see great value in the wonderful tireless work people do for raising funds to DIRECTLY support people dealing with cancer, and contribute selectively, I feel the 'Think Pink' movement has somewhat hijacked cancer research, and it seems there are others who feel the same.Think Before You Pink is worth a visit to see what some people are now doing, and I just love the questions listed ! I'm seriously thinking of getting an Australian version of this site underway as I really believe there needs to be far greater education and resources focused on the preventative aspects of potential contributing factors to breast cancer, such as :
- reducing environmental toxins in our food & water supply & understanding the implications of the myriad of chemical / heavy metal load we are exposed to daily
- stopping synthetic HRT use
- impact of long term use of the Pill
- understanding the toll of extreme dieting & obesity on the body
- tobacco & alcohol use
- stress
- lack of exercise
- shift work / poor sleep quality
